Richard Konzem draws on over 30 years of intercollegiate athletics, association management and leadership experience. Konzem spent 23 years at the University of Kansas serving in a variety of capacities, including interim Athletic Director. As the University of Kansas’ Senior Associate Athletic Director, he supervised Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Football, Baseball, the Athletic Ticket Office, as well as events and facilities operations. His leadership of the Williams Educational Fund resulted in $5 million in annual Athletic scholarship donations. He was on the Jayhawks Athletics staff during six Final Four appearances, including an NCAA Championship in Men’s Basketball, three bowl games, and College World Series in both Baseball and Softball. Konzem concluded his career at the University of Kansas as Deputy Director of the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics. Later, he served as Director of Athletics at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, and Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.
A native of Salina, Kansas, Konzem graduated from the University Kansas with a degree in business while serving as a student manager for the Track team. He received a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and worked in the Athletic Department at the University of Southern California.
